Oliver Peoples eyewear was founded in 1986 on Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard. The firm initially sold vintage American-made frames, including clip-on metal sunglasses. These were acquired at auction and the lot included a receipt signed “Oliver Peoples”.
Soon, the company launched its own range, inspired by the original vintage collection and they named it fittingly, Oliver Peoples. Signature details include Delicate Filigree patterns on metal-rimmed frames whilst Functional Pins and Structural Hinges are features on acetate frames. All their designs do not use adhesives in the construction of their glasses and as structural integrity is key, the hardware has become a defining feature of their designs.
Today Oliver Peoples are famed for their ultra-stylish, vintage-inspired frames and sunglasses for men and women with minimal branding. The collection offers sophisticated fashionable designs that embody the effortless style of Los Angeles. The optical collection includes sleek professional styles influenced by bankers from the 1980s, balanced with feminine options crafted of lightweight materials and soft neutral colours. The sun collection offers a strong assortment of various shapes with a balance of glamour and handsome sophistication.
Oliver Peoples is a leader in the eyewear industry, always evolving whilst remaining faithful to it’s vintage inspired origins. The iconic Gregory Peck model encompasses this dedication to their foundations and remains a timeless classic in the collection today.
Oliver Peoples eyewear is favoured by the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lawrence, Al Pacino, Kristen Stewart, Cate Blanchett, Dakota Johnson and Jennifer Aniston, to name but a few.
